Critiques teach higher order thinking skills, get students interacting with one another and help students receive authentic feedback from both their peers and their teachers. Either way, remember that it indicates shortcomings in your critic rather in you. Instead, manage the immediate situation by remaining calm, getting your critic to repeat the comments and then clarifying that you understand them.
